(1) Selenium dioxide is used in the production of electrolytic manganese metal.
 
(2) Used for the production of sodium selenite.
 
(3) Selenium dioxide used as organic compounds oxidant, catalyst, chemical reagent, a variety of inorganic selenium compound manufacturing raw materials. 
 
As a special reagent for plant base, Selenium dioxide can also be used to precipitate zirconium, hafnium and prepare selenium compounds to react with ammonia to form nitrogen and selenium, with hydroxylamine hydrochloride to form nitrogen and red brown amorphous selenium, and with nitric acid to form selenite.
 
(4) Selenium dioxide is used to make high purity selenium and other selenium compounds.It is also used in photocopiers, rectifiers, etc.
